The artwork for the cover and back remind me of a stylized comic, and the inside reflects this with several panels. On the cover, the caricatures of Trapt is actually quite good.
My complaint is that, rather than a plastic case it comes in a thick card stock packaging, which means it's going to get worn out with relatively little abuse.
The first track, "Stay Alive", is the song as recorded in studio, is very Rock with a solid beat. I can see it used in a movie trailer for an action movie, maybe involving police drama or an average-guy-turned-hero.
The second track, "Everything to Lose", seems more Hard Rock on the chorus while slowing down in between, and is another song that was recorded in the studio.
For a Live album to have the two opening tracks be studio recordings seems like a weird idea; it would've been better to place them at the end of the CD rather than at the beginning.
As a side note, the lyrics for this song are partially featured on the inside cover.
The live tracks are good; the audience doesn't drown out the band or interfere with the sound quality of the performance, but you can tell they are there.
From the fourth track to about the tenth, nothing struck me as particularly outstanding; just solid live performance recordings.
The last track, a live recording of "Headstrong", was actually pretty good in that, besides your slight microphone echo, crowd noise, and band/crowd interactions, it sounded the same quality as previous "Headstrong" recordings like if it were to come from a studio.
I must give props to the sound guy in their band for being able to get such good quality sound on stage to translate to CD.
The band is currently at work on their next album, and no new dates have been announced for their next tour.
Thanks go out to Eleven Seven Music and Sam Alpert out of Los Angeles and New York for the CD. For more information, you can visit www.10thst.com
